{ School's out - another year with a fantastic aide. }
Myriam had a full week before catching up with Addi and Charlie on summer vacation. Once she was done, we immediately began the fun! Our first stop was Summit Trampoline to bust out some crazy and take advantage of small crowds. Of course, the kids were ready for treats which made Edaline Ice Cream in
Fairhaven the perfect tasty treat.
{ Jumping beans. }
{ The training continues with the team. }
I'm so proud of this here group. Many of them are new to trail running and doing amazing. Some minor injuries they're working through but this team is dedicated to making the fall race a success. Hoping we can get our entire team (13 of us) together on the trails soon! When most of the team are project managers with jobs across the country, it makes for a true challenge to get everyone in the same spot at the same time!
{ Father's Day with Papa }
Since Daddy was out of country on Father's Day, we decided to spend the afternoon at my parents. The picnic never moved out of the front yard while big kids took to the bike jumps, playing basketball and others sneaking popcorn next to Papa.
Not my favorite zoo but with it being only thirty minutes away it works. The kids managed to see some animals even though many were hiding, sleeping or not wanting to be seen. Still made for a fun morning with another Edaline stop on the way home. The kids - well, I do too - like our soft serve!
{ The crazy, relaxed, and sleeping... until... }
{ Coffee table won. }
Seconds after I encouraged one to remove the basket from her head she pulled a twist that ran her into the coffee table which her gums caught the fall. This resulted in gushing blood, tears, a still sleeping child on the couch and Little Irish madder than mad about my attempt to stop the bleeding.
I love that I have three family and friends in dentistry. They gave some great advice and with one loaded on Tylenol, we went to bed and called in the morning to see what the damage was.
Baylee displaced two teeth, cut her bottom lip, quite the deep gash in her gums and at this point, no pulled teeth. She's already learned to use her back teeth to eat but certainly not the way we wanted to start summer. Praying these front baby teeth reattach themselves or we'll be visiting her new favorite place (shout out to Dr. Rosey at Apple Pediatrics in Bender for being awesome!) for further x-rays and possibly pulled front teeth.
{ Little Irish living her best Paw Patrol life. }
Potty training sucks. It's stupid.
Baylee loves Paw Patrol and has had this shirt on for two days straight - even slept in it! Add in two pairs of Paw Patrol panties and she's living the toddler dream. Although, can't say picking her nose with wet pants is a dream. She's in process.... this will be accomplished come fall!
Charlie camped two nights with Papa and Nana at Larabee State Park with Uncle Jason and the family too. A nice break from all the ladies in the house with Tim and Addison being gone. (More on that later.) The little ladies and I joined them for an afternoon of climbing on rocks, exploring the beach and sharing meals around the campfire. And no fire can go without s'mores fixings. If you're local, check this park out.
So much to do and see with a great camp set up!
{ Barbie's Berries }
No sooner then Charlie coming home from camping that we turned around and went strawberry picking. We all had red stained hands but so worth the sweet treat. And why not, we had strawberry shortcake for dinner, pancakes and strawberries for breakfast, second dessert and today strawberry muffins. You can't beat the northwest berries and have to experience them all in their prime picking time.
And why not add in the flu or tooth pain to top the week off. Either way, it resulted in buckets and towels in the middle of the night with an early morning run, in pajama pants no less, to restock on children's medicine.
In a few hours, all will be well as Tim and Addison are almost home.
Don't mind the potentially raining day so we can all snuggle up and just be together again.
On to week two of summer in motion!
